Y presupongo que a nadie le importa pero se a hecho recientemente una película basada en el manga.

Un buen inicio de año, con lectura zombie.
Una gran introducción para este manga de zombies.
Me gusto bastante por las siguientes razones:
1. El reflejo de la sociedad asiática esta muy bien plasmado.
2. La frustración de nuestro protagonista la sientes como tuya.
3. La traducción y el uso de palabras antisonantes y sexuales, no caen en lo vulgar.
4. El final es perturbador.
5. Las alucinaciones del protagonista, dios mio, macabras.
Lo malo: En ocasiones tenia capítulos que no aportaban mucho a la tram..more

Slow to start but with some amazing payoffs, this is one of the best zombie books I've ever read. Utterly horrific in parts, astoundingly human in others, it plays with the conventions and expectations of the genre in surprising and effective ways and has the tendency to rip out your heart and stomp all over it at least once a volume. I first read the first ten volumes of this series years ago, and whenever I try to picture what the perfect zombie outbreak story should be, scenes from this manga would come to mind. Last weekend I tried to pick up where I left off, but it was so good I had to go back to reread it from the beginning. Leider konnte ich mit diesem Manga nichts anfangen. Ich hatte mich sehr auf eine Zombi-Apocalypse-Geschichte gefreut. Leider habe ich die Abgedrehtheit und Merkwürdigkeit dieses Mangas nicht verstanden oder zu schätzen gewusst.

I got about halfway through this book. The main character is pretty scatter-brained, which I don't mind so much, but the way he talks about women had me feeling pretty uncomfortable. I understand the story can progress and it's probably good, but I couldn't get past the amount of times he said 'pussy' or kept trying to pressure his lady friend (not sure if it's his girlfriend?) into sex when she obviously didn't want to.

Honestly horror is not really my thing, I liked many, but still it's not my thing. I've got to give it at most 4 stars if I'm really into rating, which already means that I really liked it. But 'I Am A Hero volume 1' is quite different for a horror manga. It's kind of slow-paced, which is really my thing.

Hideo is a struggling manga artist, insecure in his relationship with Tekko because her last boyfriend was a famous manga artist. He has to reassure himself that he is a hero (a play on words with his name) and that the protagonist of his manga is not boring. I'm posting this regarding the first few volumes, as volume 1 is mostly setup only. Things don't really get going until volume 2, so if you're not sure whether you'll like this or not, get the first two books together. My ratings are per book, though.

So this is a story of the start of a zombie apocalypsis. This is definitely an adult manga, the first time I read it some scenes were off putting to me, this second time I was prepared and I enjoyed it more (hence my rating went up). Main character is a mangaka (I really like the story lines of mangakas) who is going through hard times and is currently an assistant; Hideo sees himself as a secondary character, and is generally shy and very socially awkward.. basically we firs..more

The start of this manga is really weird. But give it a chance. Volume 1 involves a lot of setting up and characterization. Once you are past this, the story picks up. It did help me that I knew a bit of a background to the manga - that way I know that I am expecting something exciting soon.
Anyway, I like how they have set up the plot and story. The mangaka feeling a secondary character in his own life translates this over to his work. He is lost and frustrated - and I'll choose..more

I must say that this manga surprised me. There were two reasons why I bought this on the first place. First, its cover mentions this as winner of 58th Shogakukan Award, a very prestigious award given to outstanding manga. Second, there's a little reference to something zombie-like on the typography of the title, which reminds me of 'The Walking Dead'.

I liked it. A lot. I didn't know anything about the author or the story so everything was awesome and new for me. Thank you, Ceci for giving me this as birthday present! :D
Hideo's life was very interesting to follow, although he couldn't say the same. The visions when he's alone and the zombie stuff were a very fun thing to see among the hard mangaka life. Obviously I ran to buy the second volume as soon as it was released in Mexico. Good job in the adaptation, Panini Manga.

I read this one in Japanese, and it uses a lot of terms I wasn't used to, so occasionally I was a bit lost. The story pretty slow-moving, and so the horror elements take a long time coming. We get instead a lot of character development for the main character, whose name means 'hero' but whose personality is pretty awful.
